Since our inception in 1988, Jill has been responsible for all financial matters, and is also Company Secretary.

Like many wives of Merchant Navy Officers her background is in nursing, but when Dieter founded Viking she was thrown into the breach and asked to keep the books.

Over the years she has honed her skills in accounting and is absolutely determined to ensure that the company operates efficiently and successfully in a competitive market place.

As Managing Director, Matthew is responsible for overseeing all Offices, Associates and Departments worldwide within the Viking group and reports directly to the Chairman and other Directors.

Matthew is also instrumental in the advancement of the company in different sectors, new business/Clients and of course making sure existing Clients and Candidates are more than happy with all the services they receive.

Matthew joined Viking in 2001 as Marine Administration Coordinator, but prior to this his seagoing career spanned 8 years having spent the last 5 working in the Hotel department of Holland America Line and Windstar Cruises. His early career was spent in the Guest Services department at Stena Sealink, sailing out of Dover on cross Channel ferries.

In keeping with all the team at Viking he is determined to ensure that administrative standards are in line with the latest Quality Assurance standards and that they, together with all Client Company policies and procedures, are constantly reviewed and enhanced.

As Operations Director, Don is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the UK Offices.

This involves working closely with the functional teams of Cadet & Officer Training and Operations to ensure efficient and effective performance delivery to all our clients, customers, officers and crew.

Don possesses an extensive marine background with recent experience of Fleet Personnel operations in cadet, recruitment and training functions within the cruise industry. He believes strongly in cadet development and retention of experienced officers through career development to deal with the demands of life at sea. Previously to coming ashore, Don served as Staff Electro-Technical Officer onboard, and has worked up the ranks spanning a career of twenty-five years at sea, after starting as an engineer cadet.

Don has a 'lifelong learning' approach to career development and studied BSc in Technology and recently completed an MBA, via the Open University.

As Recruitment Director, Mark oversees all aspects of Recruitment and Travel within the organisation.

Within the global Recruitment team, he, along with the other consultants, are available to provide advice and guidance to those candidates looking for employment within the growing maritime industry or those wishing to join it for the first time. He is also able to guide new and existing clients, whatever their requests maybe.

Due to the natural crossover of clients, the Travel department also come under the direction of Mark. Here he will support the Travel Manager to develop and deliver new business.

Mark is also involved with the expansion of the Super Yacht Officer Cadet Scheme, a process where, using his ongoing professional relationship with our existing clients, he and the recruitment department are able to assist with finding cadets suitable sea-time.

Having spent time working onboard local ferries prior to joining Viking, Mark has a good understanding of the day-to-day life at sea.
