Last month Chairman, Dieter Jaenicke attended the Maritime UK Trade Mission in Shanghai. Maritime UK in partnership with the UK Chamber of Shipping and other member companies alongside the Department for International Trade, organised a trade mission to Shanghai. The trip showcased the UK maritime offer to the Chinese market and facilitated networking and discussions between the UK and Chinese maritime businesses.
China is looking for UK expertise in marine engineering and manufacturing, shipping, ports and business services to help them realise their ambitious objectives.
The Showcase aimed to facilitate business between Chinese and UK maritime organisations and highlight UK capability.
As well as a shore-side event, an event was hosted onboard Queen Mary 2 on the second day. A tour was led by Maritime UK Chairman, David Dingle as well as an exhibition of UK Maritime Companies.
