UKSA, in conjunction with Trinity House Maritime Charity have relaunched the 'Professional Yacht Cadetship Bursary' (PYCB) scheme on the 25th February.
Set up in response to the growing need for qualified crew in the super yacht industry, the scheme aims to train the Yacht Captains of the the future.
Cadets are typically 18-25 years old and are drawn from all walks of like. From experienced watersports or yachting professionals, to competitive sailors; all can demonstrate a strong work ethic from their early teens. Many have achieved success in the Sea Cadets and Sea Scouts or have completed their Duke of Edinburgh award scheme. Others, having never had access to these opportunities, simply have the drive and determination to succeed.
The PYCB has the long term remit of promoting awareness of this exciting career route to school and college leavers and then by supporting those choosen to succeed with their studies.
Viking Crew Management and sister company Chiltern Maritime are very proud to support this venture.
