Electro-Technical Officers

Foundation Degree in Electronic Engineering and UK MCA METO Certificate of Competency.

Training is of a sandwich type, consisting of alternating college and sea phases lasting approximately 3 years.

The initial qualification allows you to be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all electrical and electronic equipment, installations and machinery. This also includes radio communications and electronic navigations aids.

Overall they will give you the knowledge, confidence and self-discipline to be successful at sea or in the industry framework ashore.

Operation and maintenance of Electrical plant
Marine Navigation system fault diagnosis
Radio Communications
Business Management for ETO's
Marine Navigation systems
Engineering project/design
STCW short courses: Medical First Aid, AFF, PSC & RB
Consolidation of Work Based Learning and any outstanding academic assessments prior to the award of: Foundation Degree (FdSC) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
